Choosing Which Additional Fees are Taxable

Additional fees are used to charge guests for extra services, such as late check-out or laundry services. Not all booking channels accept selective taxability and will tax all additional fees that are added to their reservations.
Follow the instructions below to choose which fees are taxed and which are not. This will be used to calculate taxes for reservations or invoice items created in Guesty, such as reservations made through the Guesty Booking Website or reservations created manually, where Guesty's calculations are the foundation.

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top menu, hover over Financials.
  3. From the drop-down, select Financial settings.
  4. In the menu to the left, click Tax configuration.
  5. To the right, click Edit.
  6. If the relevant tax already exists, click it. Otherwise, click Add new and create the tax.
  7. Click the box under "Choose invoice items to tax" and select the additional fees the tax should apply to.
  8. Click Save.
