Guesty offers two analytical tools: Analytics, our standard built-in tool, and Advanced Analytics, our in-depth premium tool. You access both by clicking Analytics in the top menu of your Guesty dashboard. If you have Advanced Analytics, you will see a yellow tag that says premium. If you do not have Advanced Analytics and are interested in it, please contact us.
In both Analytics and Advanced Analytics the revenue generated by reservations is calculated based on the host payout by default. That revenue can be recognized on different dates of the reservations' life cycle, such as the check-out date. By default, revenue is recognized based on the check-in date in Analytics and Advanced Analytics.

Understanding When Revenue Can Be Recognized

Confirmation: The reservation's revenue falls under the month when the reservation was confirmed. For example, if a reservation is confirmed in May, the revenue from that reservation will be recognized as a part of May's revenue, even if the guest checks in in June.
- This option only exists in Analytics, not Advanced Analytics.
- Check-in: The reservation's revenue falls under the month when the guest checked in. For example, if a guest checks in in June, the revenue from that reservation will be recognized as a part of June's revenue even if the guest checks out in July.
- Check-out: The reservation's revenue falls under the month when the guest checked out. For example, if a guest checks out in July, the revenue from that reservation will be recognized as a part of July's revenue even if the guest checked in in June.
- Calendar: The reservation's revenue is divided by calendar dates. For example, if the guest checks in in June and checks out in July, the revenue is split across June and July, based on the nightly rates of each day in the booking.

- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top menu, click Analytics.
- To the right of "Revenue analytics", click the Calculate by drop-down.
- From the drop-down, select the relevant option:
- Confirmation
- Check-in
- Check-out
- Calendar

- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top menu, click Financials.
- From the drop-down, select Financial settings.
- In the menu to the left, click Recognized revenue.
- To the right, click Edit.
- Select the relevant option:
- Check-in date
- Check-out date
- Calendar dates
- Click Save.
