Keycafe is a key exchange solution that allows you to share your keys using a fully automated IOT smartbox. Once set up, guests receive instructions on how to access the key. Follow the instructions below to connect Keycafe to Guesty.

Copy the Guesty API key

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Setup mode.
  3. Click Integrations, then select Marketplace.
  4. On the Keycafe thumbnail, click Connect.
  5. In the top right corner, click Connect.
  6. Click the API Key to copy it.
  7. Click Ok.

Connect Keycafe with Guesty

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Keycafe account or create one.
  2. In the sidebar menu of the Keycafe dashboard, click Integrations.
  3. In the top menu, click + Add.
  4. In the pop-up, select Integration.
  5. In the pop-up, select Guesty.
  6. Paste the API Key in the relevant field.
  7. Click Connect with Guesty.

Sharing key code with guests

In order to share the key codes with your guests you must set up Automated Messages that include the code variable. Follow the steps below.

  1. Create or edit an automated message to send to guests based on reservation confirmation or check-in. See more information here.
    1. Schedule at least 20 minutes after reservation confirmation to allow time for the variable to populate.
  2. In your message content, use one of the following variables as needed:
      1. {{keycafe_access_link}} - custom variable for Keycafe access link
      2. {{keycafe_access_instructions}} - custom variable for Keycafe access instructions
      3. {{key_code}} - default variable for key code only
