Temporary Pause in Tripadvisor Onboardings

Tripadvisor has temporarily suspended support for the Vacation Rental (VR) segment until 2024 due to resource constraints. While we actively collaborate with Tripadvisor to address this, we regret to inform you that onboarding listings with Tripadvisor is temporarily unavailable. We understand the inconvenience and will keep you posted on any progress. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

You can connect Tripadvisor accounts to Guesty. You'll need to have both Guesty and Tripadvisor open in your browser tabs to complete the process.


Before you begin

Below is some important information to note before connecting your Tripadvisor account to Guesty.

  • Make sure you create a Tripadvisor account before getting started if you don't have one
  • You must have at least 15 listings to publish on Tripadvisor


Connecting a Tripadvisor account to Guesty

Follow the instructions below to connect your accounts.
Remember, the integration process requires you to have both Guesty and Tripadvisor open in your browser tabs.

Step 1: Set the connection in Guesty

The first step in connecting your Tripadvisor and Guesty accounts is via the distribution page.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Growth mode.
  3. Click Distribution.
  4. Scroll down to the Tripadvisor thumbnail and click Connect.
  5. In the top right corner, click + Add account.
  6. Click Yes, I do to confirm you have a Tripadvisor account.
  7. Fill in the required information.
  8. Click Next.


2. Contact Customer Solutions

After starting the connection process in Guesty, contact us and provide the following information:

  • Account Name
  • Company Name
  • Account ID
  • Integration Email
  • The number of listings to be published
  • Preferred Currency
  • Phone Number
  • Email

Step 3: Connecting your Guesty account in Tripadvisor

Once the status has changed to Connected in Guesty, follow the steps below in your Tripadvisor account to complete the connection process.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Tripadvisor account.
  2. In the top corner, click the profile icon.
  3. From the drop-down, click Contact settings.
  4. Select the Inquiries and bookings checkbox.
  5. Enter your new Guesty integration email into the "Inquiries and bookings" field.
  6. Click Save.
    If you are prompted to verify this email address, make sure the verification is completed in order to send and receive communication via Guesty's Inbox.
  7. In the top menu, click Listings.
  8. From the drop-down, click Preferences.
    This will only appear once the account is connected to Guesty.
  9. Under "Auto-Update", select Yes for all fields in the dropdown menu.
  10. Scroll to the bottom and click Save.
  11. Once you've connected your account, connect your listings to get started.
    Keep in mind, only inquiries created after connecting the account will be available in Guesty.

Below is some important information to note after you've connected your Tripadvisor account to Guesty.

  • Keep in mind, only inquiries created after connecting the account will be available in Guesty.
  • To finalize the connection process you'll need to set up the following items in Tripadvisor:
    • Profile
    • Payment method
  • Your account status might be stuck in "Pending"
    1. If your TripAdvisor account is stuck in "Pending" status 3 days after connecting to Guesty, you don't need to take any action. We have already sent another request on your behalf to TripAdvisor to connect your account.
    2. If your account is still "pending" 6 days after the initial request date, please contact us.
