Google Analytics
Track your website visitors by integrating your site with Google Analytics and other Google tracking tools.
Guesty uses Google’s Global Site Tag technology ("gtag"), which supports several Google-owned tracking technologies. You can enter your Google parameter ID for these properties:
- AdWords Conversion ID (AW-*)
- Flood Light / Double Click Tracking ID (DC-*)
- Google Global Measurement ID (G-*)
- Google Analytics Property ID (UA-*)
Add Google Analytics
Before you begin
Set up Google Analytics 4 for a CMS-hosted (Content Management System) website. Complete the following:
- Create a Google Analytics account
- Create a Google Analytics property
- Add a data stream
- Set up data collection
To add Google Analytics to your site:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Growth mode.
- Click Distribution.
- Click the Guesty Websites thumbnail.
- To the right of the relevant website, click Edit.
- In the side panel, click
and select Settings. - In the side panel, click Google Tools.

Enter your Google Analytics code in the first field.
Note:
Guesty automatically adapts to Google updates so your data syncs without interruption.
- Click Enter on your keyboard to confirm.
- Click Republish.
The Google Analytics integration implements IP anonymization by default. Guesty doesn't track IP addresses.
Troubleshooting: Site visits aren't being recorded
If Google Analytics isn't tracking site visits as expected, follow the troubleshooting steps below:
- Publish your site. Google Analytics only tracks live sites.
- Wait 24 hours after integration. Google Analytics takes up to 24 hours to start tracking a live site.
- Remove ad blockers. Ad blockers can prevent Google Analytics from recording site visits.

Handling a rejected an ad campaign due to malicious links or malware
Google Ads occasionally flags clients’ campaigns for having malicious links or software on their site.
To submit an appeal to Google:
- Use VirusTotal and Google’s Transparency Report to scan your site for malicious content. Take screenshots of the results.
- Use Google Search Console to verify your domain ownership.
- Submit your sitemap to Google in the Search Console.
- Submit an appeal to Google. Include the screenshots of your scan results.
After Google receives your appeal, they can manually re-crawl your site in order to detect false positives. If your ad campaign is flagged again, contact Google Support.
Handling a disapproved ad campaign
Follow the recommendations below when working with Google to resolve a disapproved campaign.
To fix and resubmit your ads:
- Check that your ads comply Google Ads campaign policies, editorial guidelines, and destination requirements.
- Edit and resubmit your ads as needed.
If your ads are still receiving a “disapproved” status, contact Google Support.
