Connect with your audience and increase site engagement by using social media widgets. Follow the instructions below to add and customize widgets for platforms like Facebook, X (Twitter), and WhatsApp.
The X (Twitter) Feed widget connects to your X account and displays new messages on your site automatically when you tweet.
Note:
- Connect your business X account rather than your personal account.
- Only public account feeds appear. Private feeds only appear if the visitor signs in to X in a different browser tab.
- Click the widget and select the Content tab.
- Type your X username to connect your account.
- Select the feed type from the dropdown menu.
- Toggle on Show header and footer to display the header and footer.
Click the widget and select the Design tab to add animation or spacing to the widget.
Reach your audience by adding links to social media profiles like Facebook, X, Pinterest, and WhatsApp. Choose from existing icons or upload your own.
- Click the widget and select the Content tab.

Select the icons to display on your site.
Alternatively, click Add custom icon to upload your own.
- Enter the URL for the icon link.
- Click Change icon to select an alternative icon.
- Select an icon or click + Upload to use your own.

Click the color picker to change the icon or background color.
To change the color of an uploaded SVG, the SVG must be black.
- Scroll down and add your social media profile URLs. Use your business accounts if the site is for a business.
- Click the widget and select the Design tab to style the widget, including the following:
- Select the layout to match the social icons to your site.
- Toggle on Floating to make the widget float and select a position, and toggle on Show on this page only to limit its visibility.
Display a list of recent posts from an external RSS feed. Use this widget to show blogs or text from other sites. This widget only displays external feeds. It doesn't interact with your site's blog or import posts.
Before you begin
Validate your RSS feed before adding it to the widget.
- Click the widget and select the Content tab.

Type the feed URL in the field.
All "Read More" links open the full post on the original site.
Click the widget and select the Design tab to style the widget.
Encourage discussion by allowing visitors to leave comments via the Disqus platform.

- Click the widget and select the Content tab.

Enter your Disqus shortname in the field provided to enable comments.
While a shortname is listed as yourname.disqus.com, you only need to enter "yourname".
- Click Disqus support portal for help finding your shortname.
Click the widget and select the Design tab to customize animation and spacing.
Create a new Disqus site for each blog post to allow comments, and then add the Disqus comments widget to each blog post. You need to use a different Disqus shortname for each post that allows comments.
- Click Blog in the left-side menu.
- Click Manage Posts.
- Select the post and click the Edit icon.
- Drag the Disqus widget to the bottom of the post.
- Enter the shortname in the Enter Your Disqus Shortname field.
- Click Republish Post.
Comments can be moderated through the Disqus admin.
Help visitors reach you quickly through WhatsApp. When a user clicks the WhatsApp icon, a chat opens in the user's WhatsApp account on mobile or the web version on desktop.
Before you begin
- Use a phone number associated with a WhatsApp account.
- If a site visitor does not have WhatsApp installed on their device, they will be redirected to WhatsApp’s installation guide.
- Click the widget and select the Content tab.
- Enter your WhatsApp phone number in the field provided. Include the country code and use digits only.
- Optional: Enter a default message, displayed to visitors when the WhatsApp chat opens on their device. The message can be edited this before sending.
- Under "Alt text" enter alt text fof for the widget in the field provided.
Click the widget and select the Design tab to change the widget's appearance.
- Toggle on Floating to set the widget's position.
- Toggle on Show on this page only to limit where it appears.
Invite visitors to follow your Facebook community or contact you via Messenger.
Before you begin
Ensure the page is public and has no restrictions, such as age or location, or the feed won't display. To learn more about Facebook page restrictions, see Facebook’s guide.
- Click the widget and select the Content tab.
- Under "Facebook Page URL" enter the relevant URL or page ID in the field provided.
- Toggle on Large Header, Cover photo, or Friend's faces as needed.
- Check the tabs to display: Timeline, Events, and/or Messages.
Click the widget and select the Design tab to adjust the width and height, animation and spacing of the widget.
Facebook has known issues with feeds on mobile sites. This is not a platform issue.
Safari's third-party prevention settings may block Facebook content. Guesty can't control this setting.
If the feed fails on other browsers, log into Facebook in a new tab and refresh your page.
