Adjusting the PMC commission on a reservation

Accounting by Guesty is a premium feature available to Pro users only. Please contact us to discuss activating it.

When you create a business model, you set up the PMC commission and choose what percentage of the reservation's net rental income goes to you, while the rest goes to the owner. This calculation is automatically applied to reservations at any listing assigned to that business model.

If a specific reservation requires a percentage other than what the business model has for the listing, follow the instructions below. The change will increase or decrease the owner's revenue, and if you are charging the owner VAT for the commission, that will also be adjusted.

Note:

Please note the recognition date cannot be changed. The system will recognize the adjustment on the date it is made, which may be a different month from when the reservation occured.

Step by Step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Financials mode.
  3. Click Reservations.
  4. Find the reservation with the PMC commission you want to adjust (filters above the table to the left and columns to the right can help you search).
  5. Click the reservation. It will open in a new tab.
  6. In the banner at the top of the page, click Balance due/Payout.
  7. Below that banner, hover over "Your commission" and click the pencil icon.
  8. In the pop-up, enter the new PMC commission percentage according to your needs, and see how the commission amount changes, and VAT, if applied.
  9. Click Save.

An "adjustment commission" journal entry will be added to the reservation's accounting folio, and if VAT was applied, a "PMC commission VAT" journal entry will be added as well.
