Once a listing is connected to Airbnb, making changes to listing content in Guesty (i.e., the description fields, amenities, and photos) is possible, but dependent on several factors, including the listing connection type, the platform in which you performed the change, and the field you updated. Also, syncing an update to Airbnb can take up to 24 hours.
Use this troubleshooting guide in case you make changes to a listing content in Guesty, but they don’t update in Airbnb.
Step by step:
- Ensure the listing is in a “Connected” status in the Airbnb integration page.
- Check what is the listing connection type in the Airbnb integration page (use the screenshot below).
You can make changes to Airbnb listing content in Guesty only if you set a “Full sync” connection type for the listing. If you set a “Limited sync”, updates to the listing content should be made in Airbnb, and will sync to Guesty. Changes you make in Airbnb will override the settings you have in Guesty.
Contact us if you have a Limited sync, and wish to manage your listing content in Guesty. - Making changes to specific content fields in Airbnb disables your ability to update the same fields in Guesty, regardless of the sync type (Limited or Full sync). If you change these fields in Airbnb, they'll be managed only in Airbnb. These fields are:
- Listing title & description fields (name, summary, the space, access, interaction with guests)
- Listing nickname
- Property type and listing type
- Amenities
- Address (apartment, street, city, state, zip code, country code)
- Location coordinates, and whether to display the exact location to the guest
- Listing views (not supported in Guesty)
- Listing directions (not supported in Guesty)
- Check-in & check-out instructions
- House rules
- Wifi network and password
To manage these fields back in Guesty, follow the instructions below.
- Log in to your Airbnb account.
- Click Listings.
- Select the relevant listing.
- Under “Edit preferences”, select Property management software.
- Under “Not currently managed by Guesty”, click Manage from Guesty instead.
- Click Yes, allow
All the fields listed under “Not currently managed by Guesty” will be managed in Guesty.
To manage a field again from Airbnb, perform a change in the Airbnb platform.
- Check that the property type of the listing is supported in Guesty. If not, replace it with a supported type.
