When you create a new listing in Guesty to reflect your physical property and allow guests to view it before booking a reservation, you'll need to choose what type of listing it is — single unit, multi-unit, or complex unit.

A multi-unit is a group of units that are similar or identical in size and appearance and share the same booking terms.
For example, instead of having 10 similar apartments, you can create one listing with an allotment of 10 sub-units.

The fields under "Multi-unit listing" are unique compared to creating a single unit or complex unit listing.
Below is some important information to note about creating multi-unit listings.

Connection method

When you're creating a multi-unit, you can choose from two connection types:

  • Create new listing
In this option, you'll choose to create the sub-units as a new listing.
  • Connect existing listing
In this option, you'll choose existing Guesty listings to create the listing's sub-units.
Once you select Connect existing listings, you can type in the name of the listing you'd like to connect.

Assigning reservations to listings

When a reservation is either created manually in Guesty or received from a booking channel, the reservation will be immediately assigned to a multi-unit's sub-unit.

You can use the auto-assign feature to automatically assign reservations to listings and sub-units.

Note:

Reservations are only automatically assigned if they are confirmed. Reservations with an "Inquiry" or "Reserved" status will not be automatically assigned. Keep in mind, a "Reserved" status blocks dates on the calendar.

You'll have three options to select from under the "Auto-assign reservations to listings" field:

  • At reservation creation
When a reservation is created manually in Guesty, or received from a booking channel, the reservation will automatically be assigned to a sub-unit once the reservation has been created/confirmed.
  • X Days before check in
When a reservation is created manually in Guesty, or received from a booking channel, the reservation will automatically be assigned to a sub-unit a number of chosen number days before check-in.
If you select this option, you'll need to enter the relevant number of days.
  • Don't auto-assign
Reservations will need to be assigned to their sub-units manually.

Tip:

A reservation will remain unassigned if there aren't enough consecutive nights available on the calendar. You can make room for this reservation by relocating other reservations to different sub-units.
