How are Additional Fees mapped between Guesty and booking channels?

In Guesty, you can create an inventory of additional fees to charge guests for services—such as late check-out or a damage waiver fee to cover damage protection costs.

Additional Fees can be created for your entire Guesty account or for a specific listing.
You can add them in manually, or set them up to be added to reservations automatically, as well as, sync them with booking channels.

Below we’ll review how each Guesty fee appears on different booking channels.

About syncing Additional Fees

Important:

Some fee combinations aren’t supported by booking channels.
Additionally, channels have different limitations when syncing additional fees.
When editing or adding a new fee, please confirm that it didn’t interfere with the syncing of any existing fee.

When you sync an additional fee, keep the following in mind:

Different names per fee
The fee may appear under a different name on the channel, and fees that are separate in Guesty may be merged under a single fee type on the channel.

For example: Let’s say, in Guesty you set $5 for an "Early check-in" fee, and $3 for an "Early check out" fee. On Airbnb, it will be displayed as an $8 “Management fee”, instead of a breakdown of each fee individually.

This is because both the “Early check-in” and “Early check out” additional fees are labeled under "Management fee" in Airbnb.

Supported only for published listings on Booking.com
For Booking.com, fees only sync with listings that were published, not linked.
Follow these instructions to check if a listing is published.
Not all fee combos are supported
Some of the combinations for setting up the fees in Guesty aren’t supported by all channels.

Fee’s display name vs. fees on invoice
When you receive the final invoice from the booking channel, Guesty will display the relevant booking channel's fee type, as well as, the internal name you defined for the fee type in your additional fee settings.

For example: Let's say that you add a custom additional fee for "Air conditioning" and give it the internal name "Portable AC unit" (like in the image below).

Both of the fee names will be displayed on the Guesty invoice (like in the image below).
