Is an Authorization Hold the Same as a Security Deposit?
A security deposit is a payment made by the guest to the host to cover costs of potential damages and is refunded to the guest if no damages occur.
An authorization hold is a temporary hold to make sure the guest's credit card has enough funds on it to pay for their reservation. The frozen funds are released after no more than seven days.
