To give your guests more information about your listing, what it has to offer, and what's nearby that could interest them, you can update the listing's description fields in Guesty, such as "the neighborhood" or "the space".
Please note the important limitations associated with specific booking channels. Follow the instructions below to update a listing's description fields.
You can change your listing's title or update your listing's house rules.
Setting your listing's description fields
Follow the instructions below to change a listing's description fields.
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
- Click Properties.
- Click the relevant listing.
For a multi-unit, some fields need to be edited through the main settings while others need to be edited through the individual sub-unit to make sure the description fields are updated correctly. - In the menu to the left, click Marketing.
- Scroll down to the "Public Descriptions" section.
- Update the relevant fields.
- Click outside the field to save the changes.

Tripadvisor
Tripadvisor receives the "Summary" and "Space" description fields as one field, combined together.
The fields share the character count and must be between 300-5,000 characters long.
Failure to meet this requirement can cause the listing to become unlisted from Tripadvisor.
Vrbo
- Must be 400 to 10,000 characters long
When Guesty sends the description to Vrbo, it combines all of the listing's description fields and sends them as a single description. - Make sure the total amount of the fields' characters doesn't exceed 10,000
