Freeze funds on a credit card for a limited time by placing an Authorization Hold. You can do this manually or automatically. Follow the instructions below to release the funds held.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Reservations.
  3. Click the relevant reservation.
  4. In the banner at the top of the page, click Balance due/Payout.
  5. Find the "Payments" section.
  6. On the relevant payment line with an "Authorization hold" under "Transaction type", click Payment actions, then Release now.
  7. In the pop-up, click Yes, release now.
The "Transaction type" will remain "Authorization Hold" and "Status" will update to "Funds released".


Due to a requirement set by Stripe, seven days is the maximum length of an Authorization Hold. Any amount that hasn't been charged after seven days will be released automatically.
