You can use additional fees to charge guests for extra services, such as late check-out or laundry services. The fees need to exist in Guesty before they can be added to reservations - you cannot create them on the spot on a reservation:

  • If the fee is relevant for all (or most) of your listings, create it on the account level.
  • If the fee is only relevant to specific listings, create it on the listing level (if only that listing has a pool, for example).

Follow the instructions below based on your current needs.

Note:

Additional fees cannot be deducted from the accommodation fare and do not apply to Airbnb reservations with a special offer.

Create an additional fee for all listings (account level)

Pro users Lite users

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Financials mode.
  3. Click Financial settings and select Additional fees.
  4. In the top-right corner, click Edit.
  5. Click Add another fee (you may need to scroll down).
  6. Select the fee from the drop-down. Each type can only be used once - to create another fee of the same type, use a type that is not in use (guests will only see the fee name).

  7. Fill in the fields and decide how you want the fee to be added to reservations:
    • If you want it to be added only when you decide it is needed (for example, after speaking with the guest), make sure the Sync fee to channels and Add fee to reservations from specific sources toggles are OFF. You will have to add the fee manually. 
    • If you want it to be added automatically, turn the Sync fee to channels toggle ON. A list of booking channels that support the fee will appear - guests will see the fee when booking their reservation and the reservation will include the fee when it arrives in Guesty.
      • For booking channels that do not support the fee, you can still make sure it is added in Guesty. Turn the Add fee to reservations from specific sources toggle ON - guests will not see the fee when booking their reservation, but the fee will be added when the reservation is confirmed.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Read the information in the pop-up and click Save.
  10. We recommend reading this to understand who collects the additional fee from the guest and to see if there is anything you need to do to make that happen.

If you turned on the sync or add to sources toggle, the additional fee will be automatically added to new reservations. If you want it to appear on reservations that already exist in Guesty, add it manually.

Create an additional fee for a specific listing (listing level)

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Select the relevant listing. For a multi-unit, edit the main settings and the additional fees will update in the sub-units automatically.
  5. In the listing's menu, click Pricing & Policies and select Pricing.
  6. To the right of "Additional fees & charges", click Edit.
  7. Make sure the Use your account's default settings toggle is OFF, or the listing will use additional fees set up on the account level. If you have to turn it off, read the information in the pop-up and click Confirm.
  8. Click Add another fee (you may need to scroll down).
  9. Select the fee from the drop-down. Each type can only be used once - to create another fee of the same type, use a type that is not in use (guests will only see the fee name).
