Either way, the reservation's total amount and payment breakdown in Guesty are based on Booking.com, and these should be used as your source of truth.

Choosing to charge your guests by yourself

We recommend you use one of Guesty’s supported payment processors for your revenue management.
You can use a payment processor supported by Guesty.

Important:

Guesty Lite users can only use Stripe as a payment processor.

If you are not using a payment processor

If you’re not using one of Guesty’s supported payment processors, you will need to collect your guests' credit card details from the Booking.com Extranet and charge your guests independently.

How to find your guest's credit card details on the Extranet:

see here.

If you are using a Guesty-supported payment processor

Choosing Booking.com to charge your guests

Booking.com offers two payment services: Payments by Booking.com and online payments. Both options are pending Booking.com approval. You have to check your eligibility and sign up via your Extranet’s finance page. Note that for both services, Booking.com will charge a commission.
You can check if you are already using one of Booking.com's payment solutions in your Booking.com Extranet.
When choosing Booking.com to charge your guests, payments for reservations will not be collected through Guesty, including security deposits and authorization holds. Guest's credit card details will not be imported into Guesty

Payments by Booking.com (Bank transfer)

Booking.com will charge your guest’s credit card, and pay you via a bank transfer. Learn more here.

Payment collection

Payments by Booking.com cannot be synced to the Guesty reservation page, and need to be manually added to the reservation’s financials section. Please note that you will need to mark these reservations as "paid manually". Otherwise, the reservations will remain "unpaid" on any reports you may create.
Accommodation fare, cleaning fee, & taxes
Booking.com will collect these fees if you are using one of Booking.com's payment solutions. If you have Auto Payment rules set up in Guesty, payments will not be automatically collected, because the guest's credit card details are not received in Guesty.
Additional fees & price adjustments
Additional fees, added to your Booking.com reservations by default in Guesty, are not synced with Booking.com, and Booking.com will not collect them for you. You will need to manually add them to Booking.com Extranet to be collected.
However, additional fees added in Guesty will show up in the reservation's invoice, even if you are using one of Booking.com's payment methods (and despite not being collected by Booking.com).

Online payments (VCC)

Booking.com will charge your guest. When a guest makes a booking and pays for it online, Booking.com will send you a virtual credit card (VCC) along with the booking details. The VCC gives you access to the exact amount of the booking, and you can charge the virtual card to collect the payment from Booking.com. Learn more here.

Payment collection

You will need to charge the VCC according to the reservation policy manually. To view the VCC details, visit the Booking.com Extranet.

Accommodation fare, cleaning fee, & taxes
Booking.com will collect these fees if you are using one of Booking.com's payment solutions. If you have Auto Payment rules set up in Guesty, In the case of VCC, Guesty ignores Auto Payment rules that are set up for that listing and creates one payment for the full amount to be charged on the activation date, which is usually on or around the check-in date.
Additional fees & price adjustments
  • Additional fees, added to your Booking.com reservations by default in Guesty, are not synced with Booking.com, and Booking.com will not collect them for you. You will need to manually add them to Booking.com Extranet to be collected.
However, additional fees added in Guesty will show up in the reservation's invoice, even if you are using one of Booking.com's payment methods (and despite not being collected by Booking.com).
