Note:
This functionality is available for reservations made via Guesty's direct Booking.com connection.If a reservation has been received with an invalid credit card, you can report it to Booking.com. Once reported, Booking.com will notify the guest that their credit card details should be updated.
The guest will have an opportunity to update their credit card details within a given time frame before the reservation can be canceled. A notification will be displayed in Guesty if the details are not updated within the given time frame. Follow the instructions below.
Note:
You can mark a credit card as invalid until midnight local time of the check-in date.1. Report a credit card as invalid to Booking.com
step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector, then select Operations mode.
- Click Reservations.
- Locate the relevant reservation, and click it.
- In the reservation page, click Balance due / Status in the top right.
- Scroll down to the "Payments" section, and click Report invalid CC to Booking.com to the right. Alternatively, under "Payment method", click Report.
- Click Report invalid CC to Booking.com.
Booking.com contacts the guest
Booking.com will notify the guest that their credit card details should be updated. The guest will have the opportunity to update their credit card, according to the following time frames:
More than 48 hours before check-in
Once a credit card has been marked as invalid, the guest will be asked to update the credit card details within the next 24 hours. If the details are not updated, you can cancel the reservation.
24 to 48 hours before check-in
Once a credit card has been marked as invalid, the guest will be asked to update the credit card details within the next 12 hours. If the details are not updated, you can cancel the reservation.
Same day reservations
- If the reservation was made before 3 pm.
- Once a credit card has been marked as invalid, the guest will be asked to update the credit card details by 3pm. If the details are not updated, you can cancel the reservation.
- If the reservation was made after 3 pm.
- Once a credit card has been marked as invalid, the guest will be asked to update the credit card details within 1 hour. If the details are not updated, you can cancel the reservation.
