How data is synced and updated between Guesty and Vrbo

The information in this article is relevant only for Guesty Lite users who started connecting Vrbo before 19 Feb 2024 and for Pro users. Guesty Lite users who connected after 19 Feb 2024 see information here.

Once you've connected Vrbo to Guesty, updates to listings and reservations are made in Guesty and then the data is synced with Vrbo.

There are two main reasons why you may not see changes reflected in either Guesty or Vrbo:

  • The change was made in Vrbo and will not be synced with Guesty
  • The change was made in Guesty but the data has not yet synced between the two platforms

There is a delay between when the change is made in Guesty and when it will be shown in Vrbo. Data is pulled from Guesty by Vrbo and the sync time can take between one and 24 hours, depending on the type of data that is updated.

Data sync exceptions

In general all changes should be made in Guesty and will be synced to Vrbo based on the above timing. There are a few exceptions to this, explained below.

Address Pulled from Guesty into Vrbo when the listing is first connected. Any changes made to the address after the initial connection will not be updated in Vrbo. To change a listing address after the initial connection, follow the instructions here.
License number
Adding the registration/license number in Guesty is optional. In Vrbo it is a requirement and must be updated directly on your Vrbo dashboard in order to publish your listings. Learn more.
House Rules (Additional House Rules)
Only the first 150 characters are synced to Vrbo. If the content is longer than this it will be cut off. Learn more.
Listing Currency
The currency is set up as part of the account connection process. This field does not sync. To change the currency, first contact Vrbo to change this in your Vrbo account, and then contact us to make the change in Guesty.
