Publishing a listing to Vrbo

After you connect your Vrbo account, you can publish your listings on Vrbo directly from Guesty. This guide explains the steps required to ensure your listing is properly set up and connected.

Listings that are listed in Vrbo are not automatically imported or synced with Guesty. Listings must be created in Guesty and published to Vrbo, one listing at a time. There is no need to recreate the same listing in Vrbo.

Follow the instructions below to publish a listing to Vrbo.

Before publishing your listings to Vrbo, confirm that you’ve completed the following tasks.

  • Connect your Vrbo account: Ensure your Vrbo account is successfully connected to Guesty. Listings can only be published after the connection is made.
  • Create listings in Guesty: If your listings are only on Vrbo, create them in Guesty before publishing. This ensures all properties are managed within Guesty.
  • Set the listing status to “Listed”: Ensure the listing status in Guesty is marked as "Listed". Only listed properties are ready for publishing and syncing with Vrbo.
  • Allow approval time: Vrbo may take up to 72 hours to approve your listings. During this time, the status in Guesty shows as "Pending".
  • Ensure your listing meets the following criteria to avoid delays:
    • Property details: Must be specified.
    • Amenities: At least 5 amenities are required.
    • Guest details: Specify the number of guests, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
    • Complete and valid address: The address must be fully entered, including street, building number, longitude, latitude, etc. See instructions for updating listing addresses.
  • Check photo requirements.
  • Add authorization hold to the auto payments setup.
  • Verify financial requirements:
    • Currency: Match the currency of your rates and fees to the Vrbo master brand.
    • Auto payments: Configure auto payment settings to align with Vrbo’s supported payment methods, including credit, debit cards, and specific limitations based on the region of your account’s settings.
  • Handle multi-unit listings: Guesty’s connection with Vrbo doesn’t support multi-units. If your property is set up as a multi-unit in Guesty, publish each sub-unit as a separate listing on Vrbo to ensure accurate availability.
  • Check listing title and description
  • Verify language support: Ensure your listing’s headline and description align with the Vrbo master brand language. Learn more about Vrbo language requirements.

  8. Navigate to your Vrbo dashboard and complete the registration number form for the listing to go live.

  • If you have a default Pay Per Booking (PPB) plan, the listing goes live automatically.
  • If you have a default Pay Per Subscription (PPS) plan, you need to purchase a subscription for the listing to go live.
  • If no default plan is set, the listing will be created in "Preview" status. Convert it to PPB or PPS to make it live.
