How much time does a guest have to update an invalid credit card?

If a reservation has been received with an invalid credit card, you can report it to Booking.com. Once reported, Booking.com will notify the guest that their credit card details should be updated. If the credit card details are not updated in the mentioned time frame, you can cancel the reservation.

More than 48 hours before check-in

Once a credit card has been marked as invalid, the guest will be asked to update the credit card details within the next 24 hours. 

24 to 48 hours before check-in 

Once a credit card has been marked as invalid, the guest will be asked to update the credit card details within the next 12 hours. 

Same day reservations

  • If the reservation was made before 3 pm.
    •  Once a credit card has been marked as invalid, the guest will be asked to update the credit card details by 3pm.
  • If the reservation was made after 3 pm.
    • Once a credit card has been marked as invalid, the guest will be asked to update the credit card details within 1 hour.
