The Translation gap filler agent helps you manage your multi-language listing descriptions more efficiently. When you run it, the agent scans your active listings, finds description fields that are empty in one language but filled in another, and translates the missing text from the listing's most complete language. This saves you time filling in translations for a global audience.
Instead of translating descriptions one listing at a time, the agent fills the gaps across all your active listings at once. It only fills in empty fields for languages that are already configured on the listing and doesn't add new languages.

Limitations
Keep the following limitations in mind when using the agent:
- Scope: The agent only translates marketing description fields. It doesn't translate operational data like check-in instructions.
- Translation quality: The agent is designed to fill empty fields, not to perform a quality assurance review of every phrase. You may still want to spot-check the automated translations.
- Large portfolios: For accounts with many listings or many missing translations, the run may be slow, time out, or fail. A failed run may still have saved some translations before it stopped.
- Untranslated titles: If a listing's title in a target language (e.g., Spanish) already contains text, even if it's the English title, the agent considers it filled and doesn't translate it. This can result in a translated description with an untranslated title, so you may need to translate these titles manually.
Understand the Translation gap filler agent
The Translation gap filler agent runs on demand only. It doesn't run on a schedule, and it doesn't run automatically when you add a language to a listing. If you don't run it, it won't perform any actions.
The agent checks the following description fields: title, summary, the space, guest access, the neighborhood, getting around, other things to note, and interaction with guests.
When the agent runs, it completes the following actions:
- Scans your active listings to find those with at least two languages configured. Listings with only one language are skipped.
- Identifies any of these listings where a language has empty description fields (e.g., the "Summary" is filled in English but empty in Spanish).
- Translates the content from the listing's most complete language, which must include a summary, to fill the empty fields in other languages. The agent never overwrites or changes existing text.
- Saves the translated text directly to the live listing, without an approval step. You can find the translations under the "Descriptions" section in the relevant language.
- Creates a low-priority summary task in the AI hub.

Understand the report status and details
If a run shows a "Failed" status, it may still have saved translations for some listings before it stopped. Check your listings' descriptions and the AI hub for a summary task before running the agent again. If runs fail repeatedly, contact us.
Review the summary task
After each run, the agent creates a low-priority task in the AI hub titled "Listing description translation (automated run)". The task summarizes which fields were filled and which listings were flagged.
If the task says no action was needed, the agent didn't find any translation gaps. This usually happens when all your listings use a single language or all multi-language descriptions are already complete.
The agent flags a listing if it can't perform a translation. This happens when a listing has multiple languages configured, but no language has a summary that can serve as a source. In this case, the agent doesn't invent content. To resolve it, add a summary in at least one of the listing's languages, then run the agent again or translate the fields manually.
Some summaries may also suggest spot-checking the translations. This is an optional recommendation and doesn't mean the run failed.
