Understanding the Amenity Fee Detector agent

The Amenity Fee Detector agent scans your active properties to identify amenities that don't have a corresponding additional fee, helping you make sure you're charging for everything you offer.

The agent is a read-only tool. It only provides recommendations and doesn't create, edit, or apply fees to your properties.

Limitations

Review the following limitations before using the agent:

  • Covered amenities: An amenity is considered "covered" and won't appear in the report if a matching additional fee already exists—either for that specific property or at the account level.
  • Reported properties: The report only includes properties where a missing fee was detected. Properties with no gaps aren't listed.
  • Fee suggestions: The agent only suggests a name for the new fee (e.g., "Pet fee"). It doesn't set or suggest an amount.

Understand the Amenity Fee Detector

When you run the agent, it performs the following actions:

  • Scans the amenities on each of your active properties.
  • Matches each amenity to an additional fee, checking at both the property level and the account level.
  • Flags any amenities that don't have a matching fee.
  • Generates a report that lists each property with a gap.

The agent only checks amenities that commonly have an associated fee. General amenities, such as "kitchen," are ignored.

The agent runs manually from the Agents hub and doesn't follow a set schedule.

Understand the report details

The report highlights any gaps between the amenities you offer and the additional fees you've configured. It's grouped by property, and for each property with a missing fee, the report lists a suggested fee name.

For example:

  • "Beach House"
    • "Hot tub fee"
    • "Pet fee"

If no properties have missing fees, the report states that no gaps were found.
