When upgrading an Airbnb connection from view-only to full connection, you may see an 400 HTTP after you are ready to confirm Airbnb connection to Guesty and click Confirm on Airbnb. This article explains why this error happens and how you can resolve it.
Understand the cause of the error
The connection flow redirects your browser through airbnb.com to complete authorization. If you have an active session on a regional Airbnb site (such as fr.airbnb.be, airbnb.it, or airbnb.es), authorization fails and the error displays.
Fix the issue
Before retrying the connection, make sure you're logged in directly on airbnb.com.
Step by step:
- Open a new browser tab and go directly to airbnb.com (not your regional site).
- Log in with your Airbnb credentials.
- Return to Guesty.
Once you're logged in on airbnb.com, upgrade the specific account to full connection again.
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the side navigation menu, click
Marketing and sales to open the dropdown menu. - Under Channel management, select Distribution.
- Click Airbnb.
- Select the read-only account you want to upgrade.
- Click Convert to full connection.
- Complete the upgrade as described in Pre-onboarding an Airbnb account to Guesty (view-only).
Manually edit the URL
Alternatively, you can edit the URL directly in the browser. Make sure you log in to your regional Airbnb website before, and follow the steps:
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the side navigation menu, click
Marketing and sales to open the dropdown menu. - Under Channel management, select Distribution.
- Click Airbnb.
- Select the read-only account you want to upgrade.
- Click Convert to full connection.
- Complete the upgrade as described in Pre-onboarding an Airbnb account to Guesty (view-only).
- Once the error appears, manually replace airbnb.com with the regional domain, for example airbnb.it, in your browser's address bar.
- Press Enter.
