Understanding the Calendar Block Detector agent

The Calendar Block Detector agent helps you maintain an accurate and bookable calendar by automatically finding potentially problematic blocks. It scans your portfolio for blocks that are stale or lack a clear explanation, so you can review and resolve them before they impact your availability and revenue.

This agent is read-only. It identifies and reports on calendar blocks but does not create, edit, or remove any blocks on your calendar.

Understand the Calendar Block Detector agent

The Calendar Block Detector agent runs automatically once a week on Mondays at 08:00. The agent can also be triggered manually.

During each run, the agent does the following:

  1. Scans calendar block activity across your entire portfolio.
  2. Flags open blocks that are stale or unexplained, based on signals such as a missing reason, "Other" selected as the reason, or no note added when the block was created.
  3. Lists who blocked or unblocked which dates and why.
  4. Generates a report with its findings for you to review.

Run the Calendar Block Detector agent manually

In addition to the scheduled run, you can trigger the agent manually at any time from the Agents hub.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the side navigation menu, select icon Agents hub.
  3. In the left submenu, click Discover agents.
  4. At the top, select the Operations tab.
  5. Click the Calendar Block Detector tile.
  6. Under "When it runs", click Run now.

Review the results and status of the run in the activity feed.

Review the activity feed

Follow the steps below to review your activity feed.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the side navigation menu, select icon Agents hub.
  3. In the left submenu, click Agent activity.
  4. Click the relevant row with the agent's name to review the report details in the right-side panel.

Understand the report status and details

If the agent detects blocks that need your attention, the report includes the following details for each flagged block:

  • The affected listing's name
  • The affected dates
  • The number of affected nights
  • The type of block
  • The priority level and the reason it was flagged
  • The name of the user who created the block
  • The date the block was last edited
  • Any added notes

Review and act on flagged blocks

The agent's report highlights calendar blocks that may need your attention. Review each flagged item and decide what action to take — for example, add a reason or note, or remove the block if it's no longer needed.
