The Booking request command is an agent that helps protect your listing's ranking on booking channels. When OTA booking requests expire unanswered, your listing can be penalized in the rankings on channels like Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO, and Expedia. The agent helps prevent this by reviewing your booking requests, suggesting whether to accept or decline each one, and drafting a message to the guest.
The agent doesn't accept or decline a booking request, or send a message to the guest, until you approve its suggestion.
Understand the Booking request command agent
The agent reviews booking requests that meet all of the following conditions:
- The reservation status is "Reserved".
- The booking request was created in the last seven days.
- The check-in date is today or later, based on the UTC date.
The agent skips direct and manual reservations, and booking requests with a check-in date before today. A booking request with no check-in date is still reviewed.
During each check, the agent does the following:
- Checks the listing's minimum nights and any gaps the stay would leave on the listing's calendar.
- Suggests whether to accept or decline the booking request and explains why.
- Drafts a message to the guest, which you can edit.
- Pauses and waits for your decision in Agent activity.
If the agent can't load the listing's rules or calendar, it doesn't suggest accepting or declining. Instead, it tells you the booking request couldn't be checked.
In the guest message, the stay dates are written in ordinal form, for example, 21st - 27th June 2026. If the stay crosses into the next year, months are shortened, for example, 23rd Dec 2026 - 3rd Jan 2027.
The agent doesn't accept or decline a booking request on its own, even when the channel's response deadline is close.

Understand the approval request
When the agent identifies booking requests that need your decision, it creates an activity row in Agent activity.
The activity row displays one of the following titles, depending on the number of booking requests:
- "1 booking request needs your decision"
- "N booking requests need your decision"
The supporting line reads: "Review each booking request and edit the guest message before it's sent."
Each booking request card includes:
- An explanation of the suggested action: "The suggestion is to accept" or "The suggestion is to decline".
- A guest message that you can review and edit before approving.
- The status "Needs approval".
The card title displays the listing name. If the listing name exceeds 24 characters, it's shortened in the card title only. The guest message retains the full listing name. If the listing name is unavailable, the title displays "the listing".
The activity output names up to 15 booking requests and indicates how many additional requests are available in Guesty.
