Our partner, Expedia Group, has confirmed that starting March 26, 2026, travelers’ real phone numbers in new reservations are being replaced with dummy, non-functional placeholder numbers.
As a result, workflows that rely on guest phone numbers, such as calls, SMS, WhatsApp messages, or automated check-in communications, may be impacted for Expedia reservations.
Expedia has communicated that this is related to phishing prevention, and phone numbers are replaced by dummy ones across its entire platform.
