When you remove tags from your listings or properties, you might notice these tags still appear as filter options in your Booking Engine. This happens because the Guesty Booking Engine tag filter settings operate independently from your property tag settings.
Follow these steps to ensure only your current, active tags appear as filters in your Booking Engine.
Remove outdated property tags
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the side navigation menu, click
Marketing and sales to open the dropdown menu. - Under Channel management, select Distribution.
- Click the Guesty Booking Engine thumbnail.
- Click
next to the relevant Booking Engine, and select Edit booking engine. - In the side navigation menu, select Booking settings.
- Under Search bar and filter settings (booking widget), find the "Filter by property tags (categories)" toggle and click X to clear all tag selections.
- In the side navigation menu, click Languages to navigate to the last action.
- Click Save Booking Engine to apply your changes.
Add current property tags
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the side navigation menu, click
Marketing and sales to open the dropdown menu. - Under Channel management, select Distribution.
- Click the Guesty Booking Engine thumbnail.
- Click
next to the relevant Booking Engine, and select Edit booking engine. - In the side navigation menu, select Booking settings.
- Under Search bar and filter settings (booking widget):
- Toggle on Filter by property tags (categories).
- Select the appropriate tags from the dropdown menu. These should be tags that are currently active and relevant to your properties.

Optional: Enter a category name for the filter. If you don't enter a name, the filter displays as "Categories" on your Guesty Booking Engine.

- In the side navigation menu, click Languages to navigate to the last action.
- Click Save Booking Engine to apply your changes.
This process forces the Booking Engine to refresh its tag database and sync with your current property tags, removing any outdated options that may confuse your guests during their booking experience.
