Price increase restrictions for Airbnb listings in Los Angeles

Due to the common occurrence of wildfires in Los Angeles, Airbnb has placed a restriction on how much you can raise prices for listings located there.

You can only increase your rates by up to 10% at a time. If you try to raise prices by more than 10% in a single update, the sync with Airbnb will fail, and no changes will be made.

To avoid sync issues:

  • Increase your prices gradually, in increments of less than 10%.
  • Wait at least 24 hours between each price update.

This helps to ensure your updates are accepted and synced correctly with Airbnb.

Example:

You want to raise your nightly rate from $100 to $200. Since Airbnb only allows up to a 10% increase per update, increase your price incrementally.

  • Week one
    • Monday: Increase to $109
    • Wednesday: Increase to $120
    • Friday: Increase to $132
    • Sunday: Increase to $145
  • Week two
    • Tuesday: Increase to $159
    • Thursday: Increase to $174
    • Saturday: Increase to $191
  • Week three
    • Monday: Increase to $200

Our example ensures that the prices increases in increments of less that 10% with more than 24 hours between price increases.
