Prices can't be increased for California properties | 2025.01.17

On January 7, the California Attorney General issued a consumer alert which states that California law prohibits charging a price that exceeds the previous price (before the declaration of emergency) by more than 10%.

Therefore, the prices for properties in California must not be increased by more than 10%. Some channels are taking further steps to enforce this.

Airbnb

Hosts who attempt to raise prices by more than 10% will experience failed calendar updates. To avoid this, we have rolled back the prices for available listings to the nightly price structures prior to Jan 7, 2025. For example, you may find that a listing's price was reverted to the price from Jan 6, 2025 at 23:59PT.

Whimstay

When the listing price increases by more than 10% (in relation to 1 day before the emergency law is declared), Whimstay automatically unlists the listing.

We appreciate your understanding.
