Why was a fee not added to a reservation when it was made?

When creating an additional fee, you determine when a fee is applied:

Sync automatically to reservations made via supported channels

When the "Sync fee to channels" toggle is ON, a list of booking channels that support the fee will appear. It's important to understand that not all fee types or fee calculations sync with each channel

    • The fee will automatically sync with all connected channels that support that fee type
      • Specific channels cannot be excluded
    • Guests will see the fee when booking their reservation
    • The reservation will include the fee when it arrives in Guesty from the channel
    • The fee will be included in the channel's auto payment schedule

Add automatically to reservations made via other channels

For all other booking channels, when the "Add fee to reservations from specific sources toggle" is ON and the channel selected as a booking source:

    • Guests will NOT see the fee when booking their reservation
    • The fee will NOT be added by the channel, it will be added in Guesty when the reservation is confirmed
    • The fee will NOT be included in the channel's auto payment schedule

If both of the above toggles are OFF, then the fee must be added manually to each reservation in Guesty.

Check your additional fee set up, including the booking sources selected for "Add fee to reservations from specific sources".

Keep in mind that once the above "sync" and "add" options are activated, they will only apply to new reservations made after the activation. You will still need to add fees manually to existing reservations.

Additionally, please remember that additional fees you set up in Guesty might have a different name on the booking channel, which may seem as if a fee is missing when it is in fact under a different name. You can learn more about the names here.
