Beta: Why do I need to authenticate my user?

KYC information

If you have a Guesty account, you will be asked to provide information such as your legal name, date of birth, or government ID for verification. These details are required by law as part of the Know Your Customer (KYC) process - a regulatory requirement to protect against fraud and prevent money laundering, for example.

If you see an "Authentication needed" banner in your Guesty dashboard telling you to "authenticate your user to continue using Guesty in a simple procedure", it means your account still needs to go through the KYC identification process. Click on the link in the banner and fill out the form you are redirected to.

This process only needs to be completed once per account.

The banner will appear in your account until the form is submitted. However, your account will not be restricted and payments will not be affected.

Your identification information is collected for compliance purposes (including Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures). We understand the sensitivity of this data and assure you it will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Legal information

As a U.S.-incorporated company, Guesty Inc. operates in compliance with U.S. corporate laws and key regulatory frameworks. Among these, Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations play a vital role in the U.S. anti-money laundering (AML) framework. These regulations are designed to safeguard financial institutions from being used for activities such as money laundering, terrorist financing, and other unlawful purposes.

All companies licensed to process payments to individuals, including ours, are required to comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. These regulations mandate verifying the identity of account users and payment recipients to ensure compliance with legal requirements. When we request personal information, we implement appropriate safeguards to protect it. The information is verified solely for the purpose of maintaining account security and preventing financial crimes.
