Splitting the revenue/expense from an Airbnb resolution

Accounting by Guesty is a premium feature available to Pro users only. Please contact us to discuss activating it.

When we receive a closed resolution from the Airbnb Resolution Center, a line item is added to the guest folio and the balance due is updated accordingly:

  • A positive amount means the host was paid by the guest.
  • A negative amount means the host paid (refunded) the guest.

If you use our Accounting solution, you will also see an entry in the posting journal with the full amount paid to you, the PMC (for a positive amount), or by you (for a negative amount). Follow the instructions below to change that and split the revenue/expense between you and the owner, for example.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Accounting mode.
  3. Click General ledger and select Posting journal.
  4. In the top-right corner of the page, click the plus icon.
    1. To split with an owner:
      1. Select Credit/Debit.
      2. Fill in the information, including how much you want to share with the owner under "Amount to charge", and select Credit owner under "Transaction type".
    2. To split with a vendor:
      1. Select Expense.
      2. Fill in the information, including how much you want to share with the vendor under "Expense to add", and select the relevant vendor under "Vendor".
  5. Click Add.
