What data is synced between Whimstay and Guesty and where to manage it

See below where to set and/or manage your Whimstay listings, reservations, guest communication, and tools. When managing fields in Guesty, updates are synced to Whimstay.

With this type of connection, it is the channel’s responsibility to retrieve the data via API to complete the sync on their end. If the information is taking more than 24 hours to reflect to the channel, contact us.

In Whimstay

Whimstay only supports these cancelation policies:

  • Partial: Guests can cancel 7 or more days before check-in for a 50% refund, minus the cancellation fee. Host receives 50% payout if guest cancels 7 or more days before check-in. Host receives 100% of payout if guest cancels fewer than 7 days before check-in.
  • Standard: Guests can cancel 14 or more days before check-in for a full refund, minus the cancellation fee. Host receives no payout if guest cancels 14 or more days before check-in. Host receives 100% of payout if guest cancels fewer than 14 days before check-in.
  • Moderate: Guests can cancel 30 or more days before check-in for a full refund, minus the cancellation fee. Host receives no payout if guest cancels 30 or more days before check-in. Host receives 100% of payout if guest cancels fewer than 30 days before check-in.
  • Strict: Guests can cancel 60 or more days before check-in for a full refund, minus the cancellation fee. Host receives no payout if guest cancels 60 or more days before check-in. Host receives 100% of payout if guest cancels fewer than 60 days before check-in.

all bookings created at least 72-hours from check-in are eligible for free cancellation within 24-hours of booking.

In Whimstay

Whimstay collects the guest payments (as the merchant of record) but you won’t see an indication in Guesty if the reservation was paid. 

The payments don't pass through Guesty, nor does Whimstay send a webhook to Guesty regarding the payment.

Manage promotions

In Whimstay

Whimstay offers its own promotions, allowing guests to pay less while Whimstay covers the promotional pricing so the host revenue is not affected. Therefore you may see that your listing pricing appears lower on guest-facing platforms.
