Blocking or unblocking dates manually via the listing's calendar

You can manually block or unblock dates on a listing via the listing's calendar. The selected dates will be blocked (or unblocked) across all booking channels. A manual block is a type of flexible block, meaning it can be overridden. Learn more about managing blocks here.

The block will only cover part of the start date, and only part of the end date, since in a reservation,  the guest will only be checking in on the start date / checking out on the end date, leaving most of these days vacant.

Guesty counts both the arrival date and the departure date as part of the blocked period. This means that if, for instance, Jan 5th is chosen as the "From" date and Jan 6th as the "To" date, the block dates will be a total of 1 night, including both the nights of Jan 5th and Jan 6th. Therefore, a block must be for two days or more.

Creating a manual block via the listing's calendar

Single units

Pro users Lite users

Step by step: 

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. From the top navigation bar, click the mode selector, then select Operations mode.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Click the relevant property.
  5. From the listing's menu, click Calendar, then select Calendar.
  6. Click the relevant date on the listing's calendar.
  7. In the pop-up window, adjust the relevant dates (if needed).
  8. Switch the "Manual Block" toggle to Yes
  9. Mark the add a reason? and/or add a note? checkboxes, and type in the relevant information 
  10. Click Save.

Multi-units (Pro users)

  • You can use the listing's calendar to set a manual block from a specific sub-unit, or the multi-unit's main unit. In the latter case, you can create a manual block for all its related sub-units. Follow the instructions above, and make sure to select the main unit from the listing's calendar, appearing in the top row of the calendar (see below).
  • You can also unblock the multi-unit and all its related subunits, by clicking Unblock under "Manual block all connected listing" from the main-unit's calendar (see below).

Complexes

  • Lite users can have complexes containing single units only.
  • A complex's sub-units can be "independent" single-units and/or multi-units (having in turn their sub-units). Select the relevant sub-unit from the left sidebar, appearing below the main complex unit. If you select an "independent" single unit, repeat the instructions above under "Single units". If you select a multi-unit, refer to the instructions above under "Multi-units".

Editing or removing a block via the listing's calendar

You can adjust a manual block via the listing's calendar for past, current, or future dates. Follow the instructions below.

Pro users Lite users

Step by step: 

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. From the top navigation bar, click the mode selector, then select Operations mode.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Click the relevant property.
  5. From the listing's menu, click Calendar, then select Calendar.
  6. Click on the cell of the relevant block. Adjust the dates under "From" and "To" (if needed). 
  7. To remove a block:
    1. Switch the "Manually blocked" toggle to Yes, then click Save.
    2. Click the block again, then switch the "Manually blocked" toggle to No. Click Save
