A security deposit is an amount you hold to help cover additional costs if your property is damaged during someone's stay. In addition, with a deposit in place, guests are often more mindful of their actions that could cause damage.
When you add a security deposit hold to a reservation, you choose when it should be released, but you can release the funds even earlier, if needed. Follow the steps below.
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the side navigation menu, click
Reservations.
- Select the relevant reservation.
- In the left submenu, click Payments.
- On the payment line with transaction type "Security deposit", click Release funds.
- In the pop-up, click Yes, release hold.
