When a guest code is created and pushed to the lock by Guesty depends on the lock's capabilities as described below.
- Locks that allow scheduled codes
The code is pushed from Guesty to the lock 72 hours prior to the activation time. Once the scheduled code is already on the lock, it should work as expected during the activation period regardless to the online state of the lock.
- Locks that do not support scheduled codes
The code is pushed to the lock a few minutes before the activation time. If at that time the lock is offline, then the guest will not be able to use that code. You will see a “failed” status on the guest code in Guesty. Learn how to monitor and resolve a guest code failure.
Next to the code, the status is indicated as follows:
- “Scheduled” green
This code is scheduled to be activated according to your settings and has already been synced to the lock.
- “Scheduled” purple
This code is scheduled to be activated according to your settings and will be synced to the lock closer to the time of activation.
You must create an automated message to send codes to guests.
