Disabling or deleting a payment processing account

You can disable any payment processing account if you want to stop using it. The disabled account will still be visible in Guesty, but payments will no longer be processed through it. You can always go back and activate your account.

If the account you want to disable is your default payment processing account, you'll need to set a new default account, or contact us to disable it.

If you wish to completely disconnect your payment processing account, you can delete it.

Important:

Deleting a payment processing account is not recommended. Removing it will delete all its data, therefore we recommend waiting at least 180 days between disabling and deleting the payment processing account, as chargebacks and refunds may occur.

Moreover, to be able to continue charging your guests, make sure you set up an alternate payment processing account in Guesty, and to assign the relevant listings to this payment processing account.

Follow the steps below:

Disabling a payment processing account

Disabling a GuestyPay account

If you wish to terminate your GuestyPay processing account, follow the steps and guidelines below. The deactivation process depends on your account’s activity and transaction history.

Accounts with no processing history

If your account has no sales, refunds, or chargebacks, we can terminate it upon receiving your request.

Accounts with processing history:

Accounts with transaction activity must remain active for at least 6 months following the most recent transaction. This is due to potential liabilities, such as refunds or chargebacks.

Your account will be disabled after:

  • All outstanding transactions (refunds, chargebacks, rolling reserves, and payouts) are fully resolved.
  • Any collected reserves are released as per the scheduled reserve release terms.

The monthly fee will apply throughout this period in accordance with your agreement.

If excessive refunds or chargebacks result in a negative balance, your bank account will be debited via ACH. Alternatively, payment will be processed via the card on file by the billing department. This is in accordance with terms of your agreement.
