iCal: Adjusting a non-exclusive inventory exported/imported calendar’s start and end Dates

To present the correct availability to guests and help avoid double bookings, you can use iCal to sync a non-exclusive inventory listing's Guesty calendar with external calendars,  import a calendar, or export a calendar.

Guesty’s calendar calculates blocks by night, and with the non-exclusive inventory listing iCal feature, you can adjust your start/end dates to align your calendars properly. In order to adjust imported blocks retroactively, you will need to delete the existing iCal link, and then add it again with your specific adjustments.

Follow the instructions below to adjust your exported/imported iCal calendar’s start and end dates.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the icon drop-down menu and select Operations mode.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Click the relevant listing.
    1. If the listing is a multi-unit, click a sub-unit on the left-hand side first.
Learn more about accessing a sub-unit's settings.
  5. In the listing's menu to the left, click Calendar.
  6. From the drop-down, select Calendar sync (iCal).
  7. To the right of "Exported calendars" or “Imported calendars”, click Edit.
  8. Review or edit the “Name” and "Enter calendar URL" fields with the relevant information.
  9. Turn on the Adjust the exported events or the Adjust the imported events toggle.
  10. Under the “Start Date” and “End Date”, select the relevant option from the drop-down:
    • Leave as is (default)
    • Add 1 day to the start/end date
    • Add 2 days to the start/end date
    • Remove 1 day from the start/end date
    • Remove 2 days from the start/end date
  11. Click Save.
    1. Any adjusted imported events from that specific calendar will be updated according to your adjustment settings within 1 hour.
    2. All exported events from that sub-unit calendar will be updated according to your adjustment settings within 1 hour.

Note:

If your settings are set to “Remove 1 night from the start date” and/or “Remove 1 night from the end date”, and your iCal is syncing a block or reservation that is shorter than 1 night, the calendar will still update and display the reservation block for 1 night.
