iCal: Importing a non-exclusive inventory listing's calendar to Guesty

Have more questions? Submit a request

Any property that is shared between different external services, such as PMCs and advertising services, is referred to as "non-exclusive inventory".

You can use iCal to sync a non-exclusive inventory listing's Guesty calendar with external calendars to help avoid double bookings and present the correct availability to guests.

When you import a calendar into Guesty, events from the external calendar will block the Guesty calendar.

Note:

Any iCal event that will block the Guesty calendar is a flexible block, thus you can create a reservation that will override it.

Before you begin

Before you begin, take note of the following important information:

  1. You may add up to 10 import links per property/sub-unit.
  2. Updates made to the Guesty calendar will be reflected in the imported calendar within 1 hour.
  3. You can view the status of the import at any time in the listing's menu.
When importing your calendar, the import sync status will display either "Active", "Paused", or "Warning".
  4. Past blocks/reservations will not be available via the iCal.
  5. Imported events don’t trigger Smart Calendar Rules.
  6. Events received using iCal are excluded from Advanced Analytics data. Events will be considered as calendar blocks.
  7. When changing the imported calendar’s name, the new name will be updated upon the next import.
  8. In case your listings have been double booked, you can remove the connection and start over.
